PhD Candidate Jannet Torres Espinoza has edited a book

 

Jannet participated in the re-edition of a key book of nineteenth-century Peruvian literature: Rasgos de pluma by renowned writer and journalist Abelardo Gamarra (1850–1924), the most important work of this author. The book features an introductory study written by Jannet, offering critical insight into Gamarra’s literary legacy.

Phd Candidate Chandler Thompson presents at UCI Mexicanistas Conference

Chandler presented his paper "Dentro o Fuera?: Analizando la vision cosmopolitica del narcotraficante mexicano a traves del narcotestimonio," at the University of California, Irvine Mexicanistas Conference May 1-3, 2025 in Irvine, California.

He described his experience:  "Presenting at UCI Mexicanistas was an incredible experience! Not only was I able to workshop a proposed chapter for my thesis, I also got to spend time with some of the brightest minds in the field, not to mention some of the nicest people I have ever met."
