UC Davis in Top 10 of Nation’s Public Universities for 5th Year

School pride will be swelling among University of California, Davis, students as they start fall classes Wednesday (Sept. 24).

The campus tied for No. 9 among the nation’s top public universities and earned accolades for innovation, social mobility and more in the 2026 U.S. News Best Colleges rankings, published Monday (Sept. 22).

This is the fifth consecutive year the campus has been ranked among the media outlet’s top 10 public universities.

Germán Gullón, 1945-2025

 

The distinguished literary critic and scholar Germán Gullón, Professor Emeritus of the University of Amsterdam, and a Professor of Spanish at the University of California, Davis between 1988 and 1993, passed away on June 28th. He was 80 years old.
